The Science

IM has been studied across a wider spectrum and over a longer period of time than any other therapy technology. Whether with children suffering from ADHD or adults who have “plateaud” years after stroke therapy, our published research has consistently shown improvements in:

  • Cognition
  • Directed and sustained attention
  • Communication
  • Language processing
  • Reading and math processing and fluency
  • Motor control coordination
  • Control of aggression/impulsivity

The application of IM in the clinical setting has far exceeded our ability to research its impact on all the populations it is used with today. When this pediatric therapy tool was developed in the 1990s no one could have anticipated that it would be an aggressive intervention for adults diagnosed with stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s, MS or soldiers suffering from the results of blast injuries. We will continue to seek and publish research in these areas. But we also challenge you as a clinician to seek “best practice” advice from your colleagues leading the way with IM to discover new function in their patients.

Thank you for taking the time to review our research.
