Meet March’s Professional of the Month, Dr. Kevin McGrew

Dr. Kevin McGrew, or the Time Doc, is the Director of the Institute for Applied Psychometrics (IAP). He is also the Research Director for the Woodcock-Muñoz Foundation (WMF) and a Visiting Professor in Educational Psychology at the University of Minnesota. He received a master’s degree in School Psychology at Moorhead State University and a doctoral degree in Educational Psychology at the University of Minnesota. He was a practicing school psychologist for 12 years and then spent 10 years as a Professor of Applied Psychology at St. Cloud State University. Dr. McGrew currently conducts research in the areas of theories of human intelligence, personal competence, intelligence testing, school learning, and the application of neurotechnology to cognitive performance and learning. He has published over 70 different journal articles, books or book chapters in his areas of expertise. Additional information can be found at his MindHub® web portal (www.themindhub.com). Dr. McGrew is a member of the IM scientific advisory board and he explains his theory on brain timing in our new IM demo video. Dr. McGrew also has several other new projects underway, including co-authoring the fourth edition of the Woodcock-Johnson battery (WJ IV), a comprehensive, individually administered battery of cognitive, language and achievement tests. Meet February’s Provider of the Month: Kristen Scheirman

 

Kristen is a SLP from Irving, Texas.  She treats adults with traumatic brain injury and is an active IM provider.  Kristen assisted IM in testing the Fall Risk Reduction coaching program, providing valuable input to make the program as effective as possible.  She has also made impressive gains with her patients with IM, especially with the Fall Risk Reduction coaching program.  Read about her helpful tips and insights, and how the Fall Risk Reduction program is working for her patients.

 

Meet January’s Provider of the Month: Stacy Williams

Stacy is an Occupational Therapist and IM provider at HealthSouth Sunrise, right here in our own backyard. She has been using IM with stroke/neuro clients for over a decade and is excited to share her story and tips with other healthcare professionals.

Meet October’s Provider of the Month: Heather Barr

Heather is a Speech Pathologist at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in York, PA. She has been incorporating IM into her practice for over nine years. Heather has been using IM in conjunction with other modalities to push her clients to their maximum potential. Heather has also recorded a webinar for IM, entitled "Addressing Post-Concussive Syndrome with IM," in which she offers suggestions on additional training activities she uses in conjunction with IM.
