When we heard Jorden’s story, we just knew we had had to get it out there. He is an amazing little boy that has overcome so much in his life! At only 13, Jorden has already dealt with some pretty serious stuff; he was born with agenesis of the Corpus Callosum, Lissencephaly, seizures, CP, developmental delays and cortical blindness. Doctors told his parents to enjoy what little time they had because Jorden would not live long. “Not good enough!” said Jorden’s parents.
Now, Jorden is in his teens and IM training has helped him get on track. He always worked hard at therapy, and he was making advances; however, with Interactive Metronome and IM-Home, Jorden has come out of his shell. His mother reports that Jorden has been improving in leaps and bounds; in fact, he can leap and bound because his coordination has improved dramatically!
In the videos linked below, Jorden’s mother recounts his earlier years and life before IM. She also joyfully shares all of the new skills Jorden is learning. Although once a shy child who needed assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), Jorden is now dressing himself, putting away laundry and going to the barber regularly. As it turns out, Jorden also loves music and puzzles, something his mother never thought she would see! He is even up and singing along with the crowd at church. Truly, Jorden has his life back!
This is an amazing story, so we wanted to make sure it was easy for everybody to check it out.
The full video can be found here (NOTE: video is approximately 15 minutes).
We have also broken the video down into more manageable bits that cover specific topics, such as attention, coordination, IM-Home, etc. That playlist begins here; however, feel free to choose any video at your leisure from the sidebar on the right.
