Medicare Policy Updates Support Group IM Therapy
Recent Medicare changes for 2024–2025 may make it easier to incorporate group-based Interactive Metronome therapy into outpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facility (SNF), and intensive outpatient program (IOP) settings. Updates include expanded provider eligibility (physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and mental health professionals), new billing codes, and increased flexibility. These changes could support broader access to cost-effective, evidence-informed care. Clinicians should consult official CMS guidance to confirm applicability for their setting.
