Course Description
This on-demand competency program follows the basic training of the Interactive Metronome Certification Course and ensures that newly certified IM providers are prepared to integrate the Interactive Metronome System into their clinical practice. Participants will develop further understanding of Long Form Assessment (LFA) administration & interpretation. They will gain greater confidence with developing and adapting individualized IM training programs based upon each client’s particular timing patterns & performance and will select the appropriate IM System tool to meet the client’s needs. Lastly, participants will complete a short course of IM training in order to get a better feel for the program and what will be expected from their clients. Research has shown that millisecond timing matters! An IM provider’s personal timing skills are critical, especially at times when they must provide hands-on assistance to their clients.

Completion of this required competency program leads to full IM Clinical Certification (IMCC) and listing on the IM Provider Locator. Course participants must have completed the basic Interactive Metronome Certification Course prior to undertaking this training.

*This course is currently undergoing a time pilot and peer review to determine whether it may be offered for CEUs and to determine the CEU amount. SLPs who participate in the time pilot may retroactively be eligible for ASHA CEUs pending course approval.
