Course Description
The IM Gait Mate is an extension of the Interactive Metronome (IM), a neurological assessment and treatment tool used to improve motor planning, timing and sequencing. The IM Gait Mate has sensors that are designed to be used during ambulation in order to provide rhythmic auditory stimulation and critical feedback for mental timing to facilitate improved gait cadence, step length, and walking speed. This course is designed to educate practitioners about the clinical basis and application of IM Gait Mate for pediatric and adult patient populations. The opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the IM Gait Mate will be provided throughout the course. Upon completion of the course, participants will be IM Gait Mate Certified and will demonstrate thorough understanding of the technical and clinical aspects of this technology. No prior knowledge of Interactive Metronome is required to take this course.
